About us
Silk Route Tours & Travels is a Sikkim-registered travel agency, run by people who live in the hills they show you.
We are a small, locally rooted tour and travel company based at Lower Ghurpisey in Namchi, the district town of South Sikkim. We plan tours across Sikkim — Gangtok, the high valleys of the north, Pelling and the west, our own south and the Old Silk Route in the east — and across the border to Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Bhutan and Nepal.
We started from a simple belief: that travel in the Eastern Himalaya should benefit the people who live here, and that a visitor is better served by a local who knows the roads than by a booking platform that has never driven them. That is why Silk Route Tours also lists homestays across Sikkim, giving village families a way to host travellers directly.
We do not call ourselves the best or the number one. Nobody can prove that. What we can show you is our registration, our office address, the names of our team, and a written, day-by-day itinerary for every trip we quote.
