  1. Day 1: NJP / Bagdogra to Phuentsholing

    about 4 to 5 hrs Night in Phuentsholing

    To the border and the entry permit.

  2. Day 2: Phuentsholing to Thimphu

    about 5 to 6 hrs Night in Thimphu

    Up to the capital.

  3. Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha

    about 2½ to 3 hrs Night in Punakha

    Over Dochula to Punakha and its dzong.

  4. Day 4: Punakha to Phobjikha

    about 3 hrs Night in Phobjikha

    Up to the Phobjikha valley and Gangtey monastery; the crane centre in winter.

  5. Day 5: Phobjikha to Thimphu

    about 5 hrs Night in Thimphu

    The nature trail in the morning, then back to Thimphu.

  6. Day 6: Thimphu to Paro

    about 1½ hrs Night in Paro

    Thimphu sights in the morning, then Paro.

  7. Day 7: Tiger’s Nest

    local Night in Paro

    The walk up to Taktsang.

  8. Day 8: Paro to Phuentsholing, and on

    about 5 to 6 hrs, then to NJP Departure

    Down to the border and home.

What sets the price

We do not publish a fixed price, because the same itinerary costs very differently in May and in February, in a standard room and a mountain-view suite. Your quote depends on:

  • SeasonSpring, autumn and holidays cost more than the quiet months.
  • Hotel categoryStandard, deluxe or premium, and whether rooms face the view.
  • VehicleSedan, SUV or a larger vehicle for groups; reserved or shared.
  • Group sizeMore travellers share the vehicle and lower the cost per head.
  • Add-onsZero Point, Nathu La, the toy train or a guide where needed.
